Position

Partner Francisco Barrios specializes in mining and environmental law, and water resources and sanitation.

Career

He counsels on environmental, mining, occupational safety in mining, water resources, authorizations management, archeology matters, and various administrative procedures and sanction procedures on said matters.

He has extensive experience in permitting for the use and/or harnessing of natural resources, as well as environmental management instruments in mining.

He designs master plans and define strategies to obtain licenses, authorizations, permits and environmental management instruments for new mining projects and for extensions of mining operations. He counsels on the management of administrative sanctions procedures regarding mining, environmental and occupational health and safety, and on due diligences for mining projects and operations.

Francisco was the head of legal mining issues in Milpo SAA mining company, having worked for seven years. He is a member of our Probono Committee.
