Industry focus > Emerging markets Tier 2

Bracewell (UK) LLP ‘punches above its weight on the energy side’ and is unique in being the only international firm in London that is focused purely on the energy industry. Much of the firm's work derives from emerging economies in Africa and the Middle East, and it counts Premier Oil, Savannah Energy and Petrogas E&P among its clients for major projects. The majority of its work relates to oil and gas projects, though it is increasingly involved in renewable energy projects. It recently advised a Marubeni and Total Solar consortium on the development and financing of the 800MW Al Kharsaah Solar IPP in Qatar. Jason Fox leads the practice, which has recently recruited heavily to round out its offering. In early 2021, Ronen Lazarovitch, who advises on energy and infrastructure projects in EMEA, joined from  Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. Furthermore, Tom Jamieson, Jo En Low and Gordon Stewart joined from Clifford Chance LLP to build on the firm's expertise in renewable energy and power matters, while Alistair Calvert from Pinsent Masons LLP added to the firm's energy disputes team. Emerging talent Eimear Murphy is now a partner.
