Career

Julia joined Fletchers in 1998 and is Head of the Catastrophic Personal Injury Team. She is also Senior Chartered Legal Executive of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Julia has a national reputation for representing Claimants and was recently named in the Legal 500 as being ‘unbelievably knowledgeable’.  She has forged relationships with experts of all disciplines to ensure the claimants have the life-long support they require.

Julia won the prestigious award for Outstanding Case of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards 2012, for the case Tolley v Carr v Johnson v O’callaghan 2010. She was extremely proud to be recognised for such an award but even more so for the Claimant Mr Tolley. Julia was particularly proud to be able to show her faith and tenacity against three insurers who believed Mr Tolley had acted foolishly in his attempt to rescue a stranded motorist. Leaving no stone unturned, Julia was able to prove to the High Court that Mr Tolley had not acted recklessly at all and Judgement was for Mr Tolley 100%.

Julia’s areas of expertise are catastrophic spinal, brain, orthopaedic injuries, amputation, brachial plexus and fatal accidents.

Julia vigorously fights for the right of the Claimant and has been successful in obtaining settlement where liability is denied in its entirety. Through her skill and experience, she has been able to present cases to insurers/solicitors and has successfully obtained settlement for Claimants to enable them to move forward with their lives following catastrophic events.
