Ankit’s expertise lies in handling a wide variety of banking matters with clients lauding him for his ‘strong commercial acumen in supporting transaction execution and structuring’. He is distinguished as one of Asia’s future leaders for his expertise in banking matters and as one of India’s top 100 lawyers. With experience in representing banks, non-banking financial companies, other financial institutions, sponsors, and corporates, Ankit has worked with key stakeholders and market makers in some marquee deals across industry sectors such as aviation, banking and financial services, data protection, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, mining, metals, natural resources, payment systems, power, ports, railways, and highways.

Ankit’s lending and financing portfolio encompasses foreign currency lending, rupee financing and security creation / credit enhancement structures in relation thereto. Ankit has led transactions relating to mortgage and asset-based lending, equipment leasing, mezzanine financing, corporate and structured financing, acquisition and leveraged financing, project finance and trade and commodity finance mandates. He has been applauded for his proficiency in providing commercially viable solutions on financing matters while structuring and strategizing arrangements from an Indian legal, regulatory, and compliance perspective.

Ankit’s regulatory portfolio includes representing domestic and foreign banking entities and other financial intermediaries on a full range of issues in the financial services domain. He has pioneered the development, implementation, and launch of a wide array of banking and financial products and services tailored to suit the commercial requirements of clients. He has notably assisted entities in establishing legal presence to operate their businesses in India, including setting up of non-banking financial companies, peer-to-peer lending platforms etc. Ankit has also advised certain foreign banks in their exit strategies from India, and conversion of their licensed branch offices into wholly owned subsidiary models.

As part of Juris Corp’s stellar securitisation and trade finance practice, Ankit frequently advises banks and financial entities on multifaceted securitisation and direct assignment transactions (both standard and non-performing assets). He has led on complex receivables financing structures and has received widespread commendation for his ‘extremely good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework and for his strong awareness of industry practices’.

Ankit is also recognised for acting on innovative and intricate deals within the distressed assets market. He advises banks, both onshore and offshore, in their financial restructuring of non-performing and distressed assets and offers banking related enforcement / recovery strategies to such entities.
