Position

Stefano Speroni is a partner in Dentons’ Milan office and Head of the Corporate and M&A practice in Italy.

Stefano has extensive experience in advising on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, capital markets and corporate finance. He regularly advises major Italian and international companies on sale and purchase of shares and going concerns, joint venture transactions, spin-offs, shareholders and commercial agreements.

He acts for clients in a wide range of business sectors and industries including aerospace and defence, telecommunications, transportation, infrastructures. During the last few years, Stefano has led some of the most important M&A transactions in the Italian market.

Career

Stefano Speroni joined Dentons from Grimaldi Studio Legale, where he was the lead partner of the Corporate and M&A practice and a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to that, he was one of the co-founders of the Italian offices of the US firm Dewey Ballantine (then Dewey & LeBoeuf), and the managing partner of their Rome office. Before that, Stefano was a partner in Italy’s largest law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners. He also worked at Simmons & Simmons as partner and head of its European corporate department.

Dentons’s practice spans advice on the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, private equity investments, and the setting up and structuring of joint ventures; it also assists with mergers, de-mergers, spin-offs, and corporate reorganisations. Recent work includes advising GeoPost on its entry into Italy’s express courier market, through the acquisition of a minority stake of BRT. Stefano Speroni heads the corporate and M&A department, which also includes the ‘hard-workingPier Francesco Faggiano, Luca Pocobelli, Alessandro Dubini and of counsel Aian Abbas. Carsten Steinhauer was a new arrival in January 2019 from McDermott Will & Emery Studio Legale Associato.
