At Bech-Bruun, practice head Ole Borch, Michael Serring and Karl Stephensen are appointed receivers of the Copenhagen Bankruptcy Court, acting as trustees in bankruptcies, supervisors in suspensions of payments and members of creditors’ committees and handling out-of-court arrangements. Troels Tuxen is one of the three trustees of the Landic Group. The team provides restructuring advice, notably to Essex, JMI Invest and Flexa Holding.

At Gorrissen Federspiel, group head Lars Grøngaard, Søren Fogh, Axel Kierkegaard and Anne Birgitte Gammeljord acted on high-profile bankruptcies including EBH-Fonden, Ejendomsselskabet Voldbrohus and Scandic Immobilien. The firm represents banks and financial institutions.

Søren Aamann Jensen and Lisa Bo Larsen head Kromann Reumert’s Copenhagen group, while Christian Jul Madsen leads the Aarhus team. Clients commend its ‘profound understanding of the financial crisis, distressed companies and investors’. The firm’s lawyers are appointed trustees in high-profile bankruptcies, including Landic, and assist in major restructurings notably advising Essex Group. The team advises Danske Bank, Nordea Bank and Jyske Bank on risk management.

Plesner’s 22-lawyer team is led by Michael Zeigler and Pernille Bigaard, who are permanent trustees at the Maritime and Commercial Court. Large-scale insolvency instructions include Landic, Atlas Shipping and Griffin. The group successfully restructured Oskar Jensen Group and Biva Furniture. Certified arbitrator Peter Bang assisted Italian based Maflow Group with the reconstruction/sale of its international subsidiaries.

Jesper Trommer Volf and his team at Accura Advokatpartnerselskab represented Roskilde Bank following its takeover by Finansiel Stabilitet. It advises on Landic’s Danish and Swedish real estate interests and acts as co-receiver for the bankruptcy estate of SL Holding. The team represents Nykredit Bank in claims against Aktiv Wind and is working closely with AlixPartners on the Danish elements of international restructuring projects.

At Horten, practice head Piya Mukherjee, commended for ‘good service and excellent commercial understanding’, was recently appointed a permanent trustee at the Maritime and Commercial Court. The team was appointed as trustee in 120 bankruptcies and as liquidator in 40 compulsory company liquidations. Along with Nicolai Dyhr, Mukherjee is co-trustee of the Air Alpha Group’s bankruptcy. Steen Klein was appointed co-trustee of the Sydporten bankruptcy estate. Dorthe Kjærgaard joined from Elvang & Partnere.

Jan Bech heads Lett Law Firm’s 25-lawyer team, which assists government adviser Poul Schmith Law Firm and Danish tax authorities with insolvency and bankruptcy cases outside Copenhagen, and advises the Danish Tax Authorities (SKAT), financial financial institutions and leasing companies. It has been appointed receiver in high-profile bankruptcies, including mortgage company Dansk Pantebrevsbørs and IT company Mondo, and advises on reconstructions.

At Poul Schmith Law Firm, insolvency group head Boris Frederiksen represents the interests of the Danish state in bankruptcy and restructuring matters, particularly in the financial sector. The group advises private-sector clients in insolvency matters.

Bang + Regnarsen’s Klaus Fiala and Nete Weber, who advises the Danish Tax Authority, are authorised liquidators with the Maritime and Commercial Court.

Group head Claus Høeg Madsen at Bruun & Hjejle is a permanent trustee at the Maritime and Commercial Court. Madsen advises numerous banks and is sole trustee of All Nordic Group. Torben Byskov Petersen is co-trustee of EBH-Fonden, while Oluf Engell and Karsten Kristoffersen advised Copenhagen Airports regarding Sterling Airlines’ bankruptcy.

Michael Gregersen in Aarhus and Kaj Andreassen in Copenhagen co-head Delacour Dania’s ‘cooperative, expert’ insolvency group. Clients include banks and leasing companies, including Roskilde Bank, Nordea Bank and Bank Nordik. Andreassen advises on the restructuring of Interieur, Dynaudio and Vorskla Steel Denmark. Bo Vadt Christensen is a permanent trustee at the Maritime and Commercial Court.

Kurt Skovlund at Elvang & Partnere advises on bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Lind Cadovius’ team is led by Lars Skanvig, who is chairman of the Association of Copenhagen’s bankruptcy court and one of its appointed trustees.

Christian Elmer heads Lund Elmer Sandager’s team, handling the bankruptcies of Menzies Aviation and MMM Trading and real estate developers CLK group and Tobys.

MAQS Law Firm recruited Malene Eigtved from the Eastern High Court. Jørgen Frandsen’s team handles restructuring, bankruptcy, suspension of payments and creditor’s arrangements, representing banks, auditing firms, corporates and financial intermediaries. Recent instructions include closing down the activities of the former Roskilde Bank and advising CCDK group and the “Enkefru Plums fond”.

J Kørso Jensen of Mazanti-Andersen, Korsø Jensen & Partnere is a court-appointed trustee and assistant to the probate court. Peter Krarup administers bankruptcy estates.

The ‘competent, dedicated’ Thomas Weitemeyer at Moalem Weitemeyer Bendtsen advises banks and creditors, notably Nordea, Sydbank, Max Bank and DiBa Bank, on distressed development projects, undertakes restructurings and was appointed liquidator of several bankruptcy estates.

NORDIA Law Firm is handling over 200 pending insolvency proceedings.Henrik Sjoerslev, who is an appointed receiver at the Danish Maritime and Commercial Court, was appointed trustee of Toki Pant in bankruptcy. Together with Michael Camphausen, Sjoerslev represented Piper Aircraft in the bankruptcy proceedings for Air Alpha Aircraft Sales.

Philip Law Firm’s ‘high-capacity, capable’ team, led by Erik Malberg and Henning Hansen, advises Danske Bank and Nordea on bankruptcies and insolvencies, distressed debt and reconstructions.
