Henrik Groos at Accura Advokataktieselskab is praised for his ‘brilliant understanding and network of contacts’, while his team have a ‘fine sense of structure and detail’ and experience on high-value developments and transactions. The group advised SG Nord Holding and CPH Hotel Management on the commercial development project Copenhagen Towers, and assisted Sjælsø Gruppen with pan-Nordic transactions worth over €161m. Bech-Bruun’s practice ‘combines law expertise and business mindedness’, and its areas of expertise include property sales for bankruptcy estates for which it has a dedicated internet site to support this work. Practice head Torben Schön assisted Danica Pension Livsforsikringsselskab with the DKK1.1bn purchase of an office building. Kromann Reumert’s department, headed by Flemming Horn Andersen, is marked by ‘good communication and a positive atmosphere’. The group represented the Engineering College of Aarhus, Aarhus Maskinmesterskole and Incuba Science Park in the acquisition of Navitas Park from the Municipality of Aarhus, and assisted Essex Invest with complex real estate deals with Sjælsø Gruppen. Holger Schöer is recommended, while Søren Andreasen was recently appointed partner.

Lease law specialist Leif Djurhuus, Peer Meisner and Jakob Schou Midtgaard advised Schaumann Properties on the development and DKK1.4bn sale of Hundige Storcenter II shopping centre. Anders Friis advises SEB Pensionsforsikring. The group’s other clients include Kirbi and Schaumann Properties.

Bruun & Hjejle advises on investment funds, business leaseholds, construction law, foreclosure auctions, forest investments, mortgage credit and bank financing. Karsten Havkrog Pedersen and Torben Byskov Petersen assisted Aberdeen Property Investors with a €85m real estate portfolio acquisition. At Gorrissen Federspiel, Aarhus-based Peter Sjøgreen and his team get ‘thoroughly involved’, and offer ‘good response time and excellent industry knowledge’. Clients include Rosk Ejendomme, which is handling the distressed property portfolio of the former Roskilde Bank. Horten’s expanded its team by adding litigator Torben Steffensen from Johan Schlüter Law Firm. It advises clients including the City of Copenhagen and Sjælsø Gruppen on property and portfolio transfers, lease law, development projects and construction matters. Morten Boe Svendsen ‘shows great commitment and focus on details’. Bjarne Becher Jensen wins plaudits for his ‘insights into construction contracts’, while group head Michael Neumann is ‘a very good lawyer – practically and theoretically’.

Henrik Puggaard at Lett Law Firm is representing Arkil, Per Aarsleff and Jorton in Denmark’s first PPP infrastructure project – the Kiplev-Sønderborg Motorway – while Peter Schäfer is representing Corell in an innovative distressed transaction and Omega Gruppen in a complex construction dispute. At Rønne & Lundgren, group leader Niels Gram-Hanssen is ‘fast, flexible and a good negotiator’ who is advising on the Svendborg Bycenter shopping centre project. ‘Outstanding real estate and leasehold expert’ Stig Mathiasen advises Danica Pension on the Friis shopping centre in Aalborg, while Claus Høxbro is assisting Nordkranen Ejendomsudviklingsselskab in its partnership with City and Port in Copenhagen in relation to a development in Marmormolen in the northern part of Copenhagen harbour.

Viltoft is ‘probably the leading firm in construction law and public procurement’. Michael Gjedde-Nielsen represented Copenhagen Metro in a high-profile dispute, while Hans Lykke Hansen and Henrik Hauge Andersen are also recommended.

Frantz Palluden at Lind Cadovius is advising the City of Copenhagen on the giant Ørestad district development. Other public sector clients include the Municipality of Aarhus.

At Danders & More, Tobias Vieth (‘fast, knowledgeable and full of great ideas’) and Claus Abildstrøm advised Karberghus on a high-value property acquisition and Keops Properties on the sale of Keops EjendomsObligationer IX, a company partly financed by OMX-listed bonds. The firm represented Landic Property in the DKK2bn sale of the Atlas property portfolio.

Jens Christian Lolk at Eversheds Advokataktieselskab acted for Next Retail in opening new outlets, including a flagship store in Copenhagen. The firm is also representing Carlsberg Ejendomme in disputes with a turnkey contractor.

Focus Advokater (LLP)’s group head Uwe Teichert also specialises in leasehold law, and also handles other real estate matters in his role as a trustee in the Compass Group bankruptcy.

At MAQS Law Firm, Erik Larsson and his team act on transactions, financing, sale and lease back, business leases, construction and arbitration. The group advises Holberg Fenger on shopping centre developments and is representing Arpe & Kjeldsholm on the Tivoli Congress Centre.   • Employers’ age discrimination of under-18s legal

    On 30 June 2010, the Danish Eastern High Court established that the provisions and the practice on a number of areas covered by collective agreements, supporting a lower pay for employees under 18 years and termination of the employees when they turn 18, cannot be deemed to constitute a violation of the Employment Equality Directive (Directive 2000/78/EC of 27 November 2000).
