Career
Ricardo Braghini is a partner in the Tax practice of Vella Pugliese Buosi Guidoni Advogados. With more than 18 years of experience as a lawyer in the tax area, he has extensive expertise in matters related to agribusiness sector involving tax consulting and disputes.
Ricardo has worked in several tax litigation cases in a variety of industries, especially consumer products, food and beverage and automotive.
In the past years, he has led the expansion of the tax litigation practice in São Paulo State Countryside Region, as he is currently based in Ribeirão Preto.
Recently, Ricardo has been directly involved in all kinds of tax matters, especially in order to discharge tax assessments regarding tax liability involving: (i) social security charged from agroindustry in indirect exports; (ii) VAT charged in sugar and alcohol operations; (iii) VAT in interstate operations. Furthermore, in the same period, he has led successful tax recovery cases, such as: (i) social security from an energy client (VAT exclusion from the social security calculation basis); (ii) VAT on diesel oil acquisition from an energy client and (iii) REINTEGRA (Special Tax Refund Regime for Exporting Companies) from an energy client in a specific period (3% of credit in all export operations – December 2011 to December 2013).
