Career

Mr. Monteiro is a partner with a practice emphasis in tax planning and consulting, as well as tax litigation. He has extensive experience assisting Brazilian and international clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, cross-border transactions, debt and equity securities, imports/exports and routine tax issues. He represents clients in both tax issues related to foreign investment in Brazil and Brazilian investment abroad.

Mr. Monteiro represents clients from many different industries, such as energy, telecommunications and IT, entertainment, automotive and auto-parts, electronics, construction and infrastructure. Mr. Monteiro is particularly skilled at assisting foreign companies with selecting the right corporate structure from a Brazilian tax perspective and helping them learn how to navigate Brazil’s complex tax regulations.
