Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP is particularly well-known for its capabilities in open-ended real estate funds, and has grown its strength in closed-ended real estate funds. Michaela Walker leads the London team, which has increasingly made a name for itself in international real estate funds (particularly closed-ended private market real estate funds), where it works closely with groups based in Luxembourg, Dublin, the US and Hong Kong on cross-border mandates. On the domestic front, the firm is involved in real estate funds work connected with the build-to-rent and shared ownership sectors of the domestic housing market. Pamela Thompson is particularly noted for her open-ended funds expertise, which includes property authorised investment funds (PAIFs) and authorised contractual schemes (ACSs). She was part of a team led by Richard Batchelor, which advised Local Pensions Partnership on the establishment of a £1.3bn real estate ACS. Funds taxation expert Camilla Spielman is another key figure in the group.
