Robin Pickworth
Robin Pickworth
Robin Pickworth is a partner in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. His practice focuses on large complex commercial litigation and arbitration. Robin has particular experience advocating in significant, high-value and high-stakes international fraud and private client disputes for a diverse range of clients, including corporations, sovereign states, financial institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He has experience working with clients in numerous industries, including banking, pharmaceutical, energy, natural resources and public sectors. He has handled several multibillion-pound disputes involving financial services, company shareholders, property and international commodities, usually in the Commercial Court, as well as claims involving sovereign wealth funds and governments. His cases routinely involve worldwide freezing injunctions. Robin has worked on many notable disputes over the last decade, including winning one of the largest ever judgments involving a financial derivative product in the Gulf Region (worth over $700 million). Robin has also been seconded to a private equity house.

Matthew leads our UK Tax Controversy and Litigation Group in London. Matthew’s practice focuses on complex and high-value tax litigation, as well as commercial litigation involving tax. Matthew trained as a commercial litigator, before specialising in tax litigation. This means Matthew thinks like a litigator, developing effective strategies to assist his clients. Matthew combines his strategic expertise with a deep understanding of UK and global taxation issues. Whilst Matthew acts on a broad range of direct and indirect taxation disputes, he has particular expertise acting on employment related taxation issues. This includes employment status disputes, IR35 disputes and PAYE issues. Matthew is also sought out for his expertise in tax related commercial litigation and tax related trust litigation.

Derval is a Partner in the Finance and Banking Group in the Dispute Resolution department. He specialises in complex finance and banking disputes and has experience of major commercial and banking cases in English and foreign courts and arbitration forums.  He has been involved in disputes involving rights in respect of loan notes, interest rate hedging products, SIV-lite structures, syndicated loans, sovereign debt and interbank money market debt. Derval has considerable expertise in property acquisition finance disputes and has specialist knowledge of NAMA-related matters. He also has a particular focus on CIS/Russian disputes. Legal 500 has commended Derval on giving "exceptional service" to clients. Derval is a Solicitor Advocate.
