Career

Katy-Jade Church is an associate in the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the London office. Katy-Jade acts for both corporate and individual claimants and defendants in complex and high value commercial litigation with particular experience in civil fraud.

Katy-Jade’s recent work includes acting for the Claimants/Respondents in the UK Supreme Court. The Supreme Court appeal dealt with issues relating to determining the scope of account against a fiduciary ordered to account for unauthorised profits. The appeal followed a six-week trial acting for the successful Claimants in Commercial Court quantum proceedings and appeals by both parties to the Court of Appeal. Katy-Jade was involved in all stages of the proceedings from the date that they were issued in 2016.  

Katy-Jade is also part of Brown Rudnick’s Brand and Reputation Management team having acted for clients in High Court defamation actions, managing complex blackmail and harassment situations for high net worth clients. Katy-Jade has acted for clients to liaise with internet platforms to remove false and harmful content including by serving court documents on authors of such material via Facebook.

Following law school, Katy-Jade completed an internship in Oklahoma, where she worked at the Public Defender’s Office to advocate for the rights of indigent clients on death row.

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Katy-Jade qualified as a solicitor whilst working at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where she worked in the Dispute Resolution team.
