Career

Nikolai Hoffmann is a Counsel in the firm’s Special Situations, Credit & Trading practice group, specializing in complex cross-border finance, private credit and special situations. He has previously represented a sophisticated client base of premier private equity sponsors and credit funds, including Bain Capital Credit, CVC, Platinum Equity and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.

Nikolai has a particular focus on special situations and restructurings, advising on the full lifecycle of a credit investment. His transactional experience spans advising sponsors and lenders on €bn+ TLB and Revolving facilities, PIK private placements, and as well as distressed situations including both advising private credit lenders on high-stakes enforcement scenarios and creditor committees on large-scale cross-border restructurings. His practice is further distinguished by a technical niche in insurance capital management, where he has advised insurance groups and Lloyd’s syndicates on the structuring of Capital Facilities and regulatory capital solutions.

Nikolai has extensive commercial experience and acumen from time in-house on secondments to hedge funds and banks, as well as prior experience advising technology companies and SMEs on venture capital fundraising.
