Career

Tristan Dollie is a partner in the firm’s Special Situations, Credit & Trading Practice Group. He has experience in real estate finance, special situations and distressed debt, art finance and structured finance, and acts for borrowers and sponsors, including investment companies, special situation investment groups, family offices, real estate funds and financial institutions.

Tristan’s practice covers a broad range of finance transaction types, including acquisition and development finance, refinancing and loan/portfolio acquisitions, usually with cross-border elements across multiple jurisdictions. He also has experience working on finance transactions with elements of distress, including restructuring and disputes requiring innovative structuring and financing techniques (both contentious and non-contentious).

In addition to managing transactions through the negotiation and execution process, together with the rest of the team, Tristan utilizes his industry contacts to structure new off-market investment opportunities and assists clients with arranging any required preference equity, mezzanine finance and/or senior finance.

Legal 500 named Tristan a “Recommended Lawyer” for Property Finance. Clients describe him as “an outstanding, go-to adviser. He is as commercial as he is technically excellent and manages complex mandates, opposing counsel, and large teams of local advisers with ease. He is an absolute asset to the firm”. “An expert property finance lawyer…proactive and commercial in his approach, making him an excellent deal leader.”

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Tristan was a senior associate at Eversheds Sutherland and was seconded to a European debt fund (focusing on high yield real estate finance and PRS), a U.K. clearing bank in its corporate real estate team and an international renewable energy company.
