Chile > Competition and antitrust
(Next Generation Partners)The ‘extraordinarily good‘ 19-strong competition law team at FerradaNehme – ‘a benchmark in Chile‘ – routinely handles heavyweight investigations and antitrust litigation. The practice is also sought out for its expertise in M&A clearances, voluntary procedures, anti-dumping, safeguarding and compliance. The department is co-led by famed specialist Nicole Nehme (‘very clear in her analysis‘), whose 360-degree practice includes proceedings before Chile’s Supreme Court a well as the TDLC; Benjamín Mordoj, who advises clients on a preventive basis, as well as acting in cases involving cartels, abuse of dominant position cases and concentration operations; and highly rated litigator Diego Hernández. The enviable second line of practitioners comprises former FNE lawyer Mabel Ahumada, and competition and unfair competition litigation expert Tomás Pérez, who were both made partners in May 2021. At director level, Josefina Campos advises on matters involving joint ventures and mergers, as well as abuse of dominant position cases; Catalina Íñiguez assists with preventive advice, litigation, investigations and concentration operations; Raffaela Corte is routinely involved in mandates involving both regulated and non-regulated markets; and Beatriz Hidalgo is a competition law and regulations specialist. Former of counsel Carolina Oñate moved to UK regulator Ofcom in July 2021.
