Partner and head of dispute resolution and litigation at Carey Olsen, specialises in commercial disputes.

His litigation specialisms include: public law and judicial review; law of contract; property law; planning law and general commercial litigation.

He is a recognised leader in Jersey contract law and Jersey customary law. The many high-profile cases he has acted on include Les Pas Holding Limited v States of Jersey; J.P.M.O. and TOP Produce Ltd v States of Jersey; Anchor Trust v Jersey Financial Services Commission; and Jersey Financial Services Commission v Cater Allen Trust Co Ltd and others.

In 2017-2020, John was President of the Law Society of Jersey.

Practice head Marcus Pallot assists financial services clients engaged in complex regulatory issues and insolvency matters. Veteran litigator John Kelleher maintains a broad practice, covering public law and judicial reviews, in addition to trusts, contract and property disputes. Andreas Kistler acts for plaintiffs and defendants in cases concerning fraud, professional negligence and breach of trust, while William Grace handles white-collar crime instructions, regulatory proceedings and asset tracing.  Louise Woolrich, who was made partner in July 2022, handles trusts and funds disputes. Senior associate Pierre Ali-Noor joined the practice from Dickinson Gleeson in October 2022, bringing strong private wealth and trusts expertise to the team.
