Position

Jacobo is Counsel in our Real Estate group, based in Madrid. With more than 14 years’ experience of the real estate market, he has provided legal advice to both local and international clients on some of the most significant real estate deals in the Spanish market, including bidding processes for real estate portfolios, Due Diligence, the acquisition of portfolios of NPLs., the acquisitions and leases of shopping centres, offices, financial complexes, leisure centres and hotels. Before joining us, he acted as the coordinator for the macro Due Diligence Project entrusted by the Spanish Government for a legal review of the real estate and financial assets transferred to SAREB by the nationalised banks.

Career

In addition, he has wide experience of providing legal advice to both local and international clients in the negotiation and drafting of international distribution and agency contracts. He is a qualified lawyer and member of Spanish Bar. Author of many articles and chapters on Real Estate and corporate issues, Jacobo also lectures and leads seminars on Real Estate and corporate issues for Carlos III University, among others.

Education

A law graduate from the University Complutense in Madrid he started his career in the Spanish office of the European Parliament, and then joined Baker & McKenzie’s Madrid office where he has specialised in the Real Estate sector for the last seven years. After that, and prior to joining us, he worked in the Madrid office of the Spanish Law Firm Broseta for another seven years.
