Career

Murali Pillai SC is a partner of Rajah & Tann’s Commercial Litigation, Appeals and Issues and Employment Practices. He was appointed as Senior Counsel in January 2020.

He has over two decades of experience dealing with a wide spectrum of matters, including employment law and financial services. He also advises financial institutions on contentious regulatory matters.

Murali has argued several landmark civil and criminal cases in the Supreme Court of Singapore. He has also been appointed as arbitrator in both international and domestic disputes.

His clients include financial institutions, public health institutions and insurance companies where he is involved in matters such as mass departure of financial advisers to a competitor, departure and recruitment of senior employees involving issues of enforcement of post-termination restrictive covenants, banking secrecy and preserving confidentiality.
