Amarjit joined KPMG Law in February 2019. Prior to this, Amarjit practised as a lawyer and partner in a law firm in Malaysia for 17 years before moving to Australia in 2013. In Australia, Amarjit led a team of investigators into allegations of misconduct against financial institutions at a financial ombudsman service.
Amarjit has over 25 years experience in law. She has extensive experience in advising clients on a wide spectrum of corporate and commercial matters including corporate regulatory compliance, corporate transactions including IPOs, corporate restructures during the Asian and Global financial crisis, mergers and acquisitions, and equity capital raising exercise, new issues, follow on offerings , commercial dispute resolution, commercial property developers, banking and finance; acted for receivers and liquidators and general corporate matters. Amarjit has represented clients ranging from leading domestic and international corporations providing expert advice and oversight in large corporate negotiations.
Amarjit has broad experience in transactional analysis, and advising clients from business start ups to seasoned companies. Able to provide expert practical and business minded legal advice and oversight in large corporate negotiations.
