Lundgrens provides 'very pragmatic disputes advice' in the commercial, construction, insolvency and real estate sectors. Peter Clemmen Christensen jointly leads the practice, is 'very strategic in his advice', and recently acted for Steen & Strømin in a rental agreement dispute with Deichmann Schuhe. Other work includes fellow team head Dan Terkildsen acting for BankNordik in a liability claim brought by investors relating to a swap agreement, and Michael Amstrup defending a former director of the now-bankrupt Amagerbanken in professional liability claims. Product and professional liability cases are the key areas of expertise for Lundgrens' insurance team, which is led by Jesper Hjetting, who has 'excellent knowledge of the insurance sector' and is 'very professional and pleasant'. Recent highlights include Hjetting acting for Topdanmark Livsforsikring in a compensation claim regarding a disabled person's pension; and Michael Amstrup, who is an expert in professional liability cases involving accountants and attorneys, defending Henrik Ziminowas, a member of the board of directors at Amagerbanken, in a liability claim brought by Financial Stability relating to the bank's bankruptcy. Nicolai Bo Sørensen also acts in directors' and management liability disputes.

Lundgrens has a broad IP practice that is 'diligent', 'courageous' and 'open', and 'works as a real team'. Group co-head Jakob Krag Nielsen is an expert in contentious matters and recently handled multiple patent infringement cases a global pharmaceutical company; while fellow co-head Nina Ringen focuses on soft IP issues and assisted Perkins+Will with the IP aspects of its acquisition of Schmidt Hammer Lassen. Other noteworthy names include director Søren Danelund Reipurth, who represented Ilse Jacobsen in several copyright infringement claims relating to its wellington boots; and director Rasmus Vang, who specialises in IP litigation.
Real estate and construction Tier 2
The department at Lundgrens was recently bolstered by multiple new arrivals which have significantly enhanced its capabilities in the real estate space. New practice head Tobias Vieth and Pedram Moghaddam arrived from DANDERS & MORE. Vieth is 'well-resourced, knowledgeable, commercial and has an exceptional network', and recently advised Standard Life Aberdeen on its acquisition of a property in Copenhagen City Hall Square from Alm; while Moghaddam represented Boligkontoret Danmark in a dispute with a contractor regarding extra work and delays during its renovation of residential buildings. Another recent arrival is Lars Kjær, who joined from Bech-Bruun and focuses on real estate financings. Other key names include Niels Wive Kjaergaard, who heads up the construction team and has a strong track record in litigation; Niels Gram-Hanssen, who focuses on real estate transactions and tenancy issues, and recently advised Wihlborgs on its acquisition of 16 commercial properties in Greater Copenhagen from Danica Pension Fund; and managing partner Thomas Stampe, who regularly handles real estate transactions.
Banking and finance Tier 3
Restructuring expert Kristian Gustav Andersson leads the department at Lundgrens, which is highly skilled in structured finance and real estate finance work, securitisations and private equity fund issues; clients include PKA, Saxo Bank and Realkredit Danmark. Lars Kjær is an expert in acquisition and real estate financings, and recently advised Blackstone on its cross-border post-acquisition financing of a logistics and warehouse portfolio. Clients also praise private equity expert Christian Bredtoft Guldmann, who has 'very good commercial understanding'; he recently acted for Lærernes Pension on its investment into Copenhagen Infrastructure III, a renewable energy-focused fund.

Lundgrens has 'top-level knowledge of environmental law' thanks to a team of 'highly skilled experts', which is led by the 'very skilled and enthusiastic' Titti Kopp, who 'works very quickly'. Søren Hilbert is also singled out for urban development issues; he recently advised the City of Aarhus on a €27bn project involving the refitting of a hospital facility and protected buildings.
EU and competition Tier 3
Clients single out Lundgrens for its 'business sense' and 'deep legal insight' paired with a strong track record in the competition and procurement elements of public-private projects, a key area of strength for Michael Alstrøm. Recent work includes procurement specialist Søren Hilbert advising the Government of Greenland on the renewal of subsidised service contracts for public transportation, and director Majse Jarlov advising train manufacturer Skoda Transportation on its role as tenderer in the renewal of Danish State Rail's train fleet.
Insolvency Tier 3
Lundgrens covers the full spectrum of insolvency work for clients including Sydbank, Jyske Bank and Lollands Bank. The group advises on all IP matters assisting on establishing, commercialising and enforcing IP rights; establishment and maintenance of portfolios of IP rights; negotiation and preparation of IP contracts; handling of all types of conflicts pertaining to IP or marketing practices, including injunctions, search orders, invalidity proceedings, civil proceedings and enforcement programs (parallel import and anti-counterfeit) and matters before administrative complaints boards in Denmark and in Europe.

Insolvency & Restructuring:
The group advises Danish blue-chip companies, SMEs and private equity funds as well as financial institutions and pension funds (as lenders). The group advises on all aspects of insolvency law, including restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings, divestments and reorganisations and arrangements with creditors and transfer of bankrupt businesses. The work includes advising on: creditor, bondholder and security agent representation; security reviews and enforcements; portfolio and distressed debt sales; directors’ duties; out-of-court restructurings; debt for equity swaps; and general insolvency litigation.
The tax group focuses on tax advice in connection with M&A and real estate transactions and structuring, pension fund investments, private equity transactions, litigation of tax and VAT cases, and criminal tax cases. The tax group has great experience in representing clients before the administrative
authorities and the courts in Denmark. The group advises on Danish and international tax law, including tax advice in connection with restructuring of companies, optimization of transaction structures, international tax planning and transfer pricing.
The group is known for its ability to efficiently handle complex matters and projects of an environmental character in a timely manner, as well as for developing practical strategies for clients within a given legal frame set up and working to tight timeframes where needed.
The group handles complex projects involving the development of real estate, as well as those involving nature protection and environmental regulation in a broader sense. Also, the group assists public authorities or real estate developers with briefs on the legal aspects and relative ranking of multiple (often complex) environmental laws.
EU & Competition:
The group organises and reviews public-private projects of many kinds with respect to the EU public procurement and state aid rules. The group has significant experience within various sectors, including welfare technology, infrastructure, construction, IT, healthcare and medical devices. The group is deeply involved in several “second generation” public-private projects regarding new business models such as public-private joint ventures, concession models, BIDs in connection with e.g. Smart City and Big Data projects. The group advises public bodies and private undertakings – Danish and international – participating in market dialogue and public procurement procedures, including complex procedures such as competitive dialogues, the new innovation partnership procedure and PPP projects.
Moreover, the group has strong expertise in advising international and Danish companies on all competition law issues.
The Information Technology group has a strong focus on Data Protection. The highly certified team offers clients a one-stop-shop for all matters related to personal data, from planning and implementing compliance projects to handling loss of personal data due to security breaches, and anything in-between.
