Career
Having been with GSI since its foundation, Mr Hasan Akicioglu has been serving as the managing partner since the beginning of 2013. Before he was promoted to senior managing partner, he was leading one of the corporate departments of GSI and supervising thirteen lawyers as a Partner. Prior to joining GSI, he was associated with an international consultancy firm operating in Turkey, where he focused on corporate and commercial law, real estate, M&A and energy projects. Having a professional experience of fifteen years, he is specialized on corporate and commercial law, international commercial arbitration, energy law, privatisation, media law and construction and real estate law. In addition to practicing law in domestic issues and advising multinationals on their investments in Turkey, he has also been involved in various cross-border transactions regarding real estate, M&A hydropower plants and natural gas projects in Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Egypt and Northern Iraq and therefore has extensive knowledge and understanding of the nature and structure of cross-border transactions.
