Career

Moïra Truijens was admitted to the bar in 2005 and prior to joining Hoogenraad & Haak she worked for two different Tier 1 firms. Moïra enjoys working on all IP-law related matters, including (cross border) patent litigation, as well as unfair competition, custom matters and commercial contracts. She is an excellent litigator yet above all a committed problem solver, capable of keeping matters simple and act pragmatically. She acts for big internationals but also for smaller businesses. Being a strong strategist and fluent in three languages she is an excellent pan-European team player and leader. Her role as a Deputy Judge with the Court of Appeal Den Bosch strengthens that position.

Moïra is an active member of several professional associations, including the Dutch Association of Intellectual Property Law (AIPPI/VIE), the Dutch Advertising Law Association (VvRr), the Benelux Trademark and Design Law Association (BMM) and the Dutch Association for Copyright Law (VvA). She also has been admitted to the Dutch Association of Intellectual Property Law Litigators (VIEPA) and also to the international (francophone) society Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles (l’APRAM). Furthermore she is a member of the Marques Designs Team. She teaches and lectures regularly on subjects related to her practice and is one of the authors of a handbook on design law. Furthermore, she is chairing and co-author the Dutch AIPPI group reports on ‘Requirements for protection of designs’ and ‘Bad faith trademarks’.

Leisure

Next to law, Moïra loves music. She chairs the ‘Stichting Symphonic Cinema’ and plays clarinet and cello. With her cello she recorded 2 CD’s with Bløf and toured with Herbert Grönemeyer on the Mensch tour. She is fluent in Dutch, English and French and also learned to speak German.
