Career

Miklós Boronkay is the head of Szecskay Attorneys at Law’s Dispute Resolution Practice. He specializes in complex commercial litigation and arbitration cases, as well as in competition law matters. He has advised and represented clients in major international (ICC, UNCITRAL) and Hungarian arbitrations and in court proceedings too.

He has also represented clients before Hungarian courts in real estate, commercial, corporate and tax disputes. Miklós is an expert in tort and contract law, and has written for a number of publications that cover these areas.

He is an arbitrator listed on the Roll of Arbitrators of the Permanent Arbitration Court attached to the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has a growing reputation as a leading young arbitrator. Miklós also acted as an arbitrator in VIAC arbitration proceedings.

Besides his dispute resolution practice, Miklós has considerable experience in competition law matters. He has participated in a number of cartel, unfair competition and merger control proceedings before the Hungarian Competition Office.

Miklós has been teaching various private law courses for more than a decade (both graduate and postgraduate courses). He is author of over 40 publications.

He is fluent in English and German.

The DAF trucks cartel case has been a key focus for the dispute resolution team at Szecskay Attorneys at Law. The team is also increasing its arbitration presence, participating in proceedings before the Arbitration Court attached to the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
