CMS focuses on big-ticket real estate transactions, as illustrated through its advice to Atenor on the sale of three buildings in the Váci Greens complex, assistance to longstanding client Futureal Group with a series of sales and acquisitions, and its advice to Kopaszi Gát on the sale of a development site to MOL. Gábor Czike and József Várady are ‘responsive and excellent in negotiations’. Orsolya Szilágyi joined Sárhegyi & Partners Law Firm.

Lakatos, Köves and Partners, according to one client, has ‘the best real estate team’ in the market, capable of ‘delivering in-time tailor-made advice’, with particular expertise in the hospitality sector. Practice head Attila Ungár, who has ‘excellent negotiation skills’, recently advised Horizon Development on the sale of Váci1 Shopping Centre to GLL Real Estate Partners. Other clients include Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund, Indotek Group and Marriott Hotel.

Dentons handles a steady flow of domestic and regional real estate mandates. Highlights included advising CPI Property Group on the acquisition of a portfolio of 11 retail properties from CBRE Global Investors, including six major shopping centres across the CEE region. Judit Kővári heads the practice, which also includes the highly regarded Marcell Szőnyi and of counsel Ádám Kaplonyi.

Hegymegi-Barakonyi és Társa Baker & McKenzie’s team stands out for its ‘responsiveness, in-depth industry knowledge and commercial approach’. The highly regarded Benedek Kovács handled a number of large real estate transactions, including advising Corpus Sireo International on two multimillion-euro acquisitions.

At Horváth & Partners DLA Piper, practice head Szilárd Kui, Gábor Borbély and Attila Remes are the key names. The team advised an institutional investor on a number of acquisitions and assisted a property management company with the sale of a pan-European real estate portfolio to a multinational investor.

Knight Bird & Bird Iroda’s team includes David Dederick, senior counsel Ferenc Mátrai and senior associate Éva Kovács following the trio’s arrival from the now defunct Siegler Law Office / Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. The group is advising Wing on two major real estate development projects and assisted ConvergenCE and Europa Capital on the €60m sale of three office buildings.

Oppenheim’s recent highlights include advising ZFP Investments on the €45m purchase of Atenor’s Green House Building C and assisting Duna Terasz Premium with the development of a residential project. Márk Pintér is the key name.

Andrékó Kinstellar’s team is particularly active in the office buidling and retail space, where the team focuses on developments, and the acquisition and disposal of real estate portfolios. Practice head Anthony O’Connor, Mónika Frank and senior associate Marcell Horváth, who joined from an in-house role in 2017, are the key contacts.

CHSH Dezsö & Partners’ team is praised for its ‘deep understanding of the legal and commercial characteristics of the real estate market’. KCG Partners Law Firm handles real estate transactions, construction projects, and leasehold and construction disputes. Eszter Kamocsay-Berta is ‘a very skilled negotiator’ who also stands out for her ‘project management skills’. Gabriella Gálik is also noted.

At Kapolyi Law Firm, József Kapolyi and Mónika Kapetz are singled out for their ‘excellent negotiation skills and business-oriented approach’, and Zita Orbán is also highly regarded. Noerr’s recent workload covers greenfield investment, property management and acquisitions. Zoltán Nádasdy is ‘extreme knowledgeable’.

Partos & Noblet in co-operation with Hogan Lovells International LLP’s team advised Accelerate Property Fund on the financing and subsequent acquisition of a portfolio of nine retail warehouse properties from Supernova-Privatstiftung. Christopher Noblet and Sándor Békési are ‘responsive and diligent’.

At Schoenherr Hetényi Ügyvédi Iroda, recent highlights include advising a real estate developer on the acquisition of a hotel and leisure facility. Senior attorney Tamás Balogh heads the team following the departure of Sándor Habóczky to Kapolyi Law Firm in 2017.

Szabo Kelemen & Partners Attorneys has experience in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions and is advising CTP Management Hungary on a large-scale greenfield investment. Tamás Szabó and Domonkos Kiss are the main contacts.

Szecskay Attorneys at Law’s team recently advised on the sale, purchase and lease of a range of properties for domestic and regional clients. Key names to note include Patrick Tausz and Attila Jásdi.

Led by Andrea Jádi Németh, bpv Jádi Németh Attorneys at Law’s team represented a property development project company in several disputes relating to a historical building. Other highlights include its work advising on leases and real estate acquisitions.

Deloitte Legal Erdos and Partners Law Firm’s team is led by Gábor Gömöri following his arrival from Andrékó Kinstellar in 2017. Gömöri assisted a bank with the financing and development of two logistic parks and advised a developer on the leasehold issues pertaining to a major shopping centre.

Erös Ügyvédi Iroda/Squire Patton Boggs advises on domestic and international real estate mandates for real estate investors and developers. Ákos Mester’s recent highlights include handling acquisitions, venture capital investments, real estate financing and greenfield projects.

At Faludi Wolf Theiss, János Tóth has ‘up-to-date knowledge of the real estate industry’. The group has recently handled real estate transactions, financing and contentious matters.

Forgó, Damjanovic & Partners Law Firm is advising Diófa Asset Management on the acquisition of a portfolio of shopping centres. Gábor Damjanovic and Zoltán Forgó are the names to note.

Jalsovszky’s real estate team works closely with its tax department, and is active in advising on the sale and purchase of property developments. Pál Jalsovszky and Péter Gyimesi advised Magyar Posta Takarék Property Investment Fund on the purchase of the Dél-pesti Üzleti logistic park from Wing Group.

Lohn Law Firm handles commercial, residential and hotel transactions. The ‘enthusiastic and personable’ Balázs Lohn is able to ‘interpret and apply complicated legal aspects in a commercial manner’. Balázs Kis and Márta Mráz are other key names.
