Andrew Cotton is an experienced M&A and commercial lawyer with over 2 decades’ experience of advising on a broad range of transactional work with a particular focus on transactions in the energy, infrastructure and technology sectors. His caseload includes advising on the full range of M&A, joint ventures, project finance and commercial agreements. Andrew is a ranked as a Leading Individual for Commercial, Corporate and M&A in the 2020 edition of Legal500 and as a Notable Practitioner for M&A in the 2020 edition of Chambers Global which notes that Andrew “is qualified to practise in Finland and as an English solicitor. He advises clients hailing from the technology and infrastructure sectors on cross-border M&A and financing of projects. He garners praise for his dedication and forethought, with one client stating that he is “always there when needed and always looking three steps ahead.” Andrew has significant experience of advising fund managers, specialist funds and strategic investors from the major European jurisdictions as well as the US, Japan and Korea on Finnish transactions. In addition to his primary advisory work on M&A and corporate transactions, Andrew is one of the most experienced attorneys in Finland assisting underwriters on the underwriting of transactional insurance in respect of Finnish M&A transactions or the Finnish aspects of multi-jurisdictional transactions with a Finnish element. Andrew is a qualified Finnish Attorney and English Solicitor.
