The 'excellent' Samuli Simojoki leads the practice at Borenius; his recent work includes advising Aalto University on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) procurement and assisting Fingrid with its development of a national data hub for the Finnish electricity market including related IT procurement issues. The team receives praise for its 'excellent data protection law capabilities' and clients single out senior associate Peter Hänninen, who has 'great potential'; Hänninen recently assisted Nanoform with its negotiation of a framework agreement with a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Castrén & Snellman's 'very strong' team recently acted for Silta in an ad hoc arbitration regarding independent data usage by IT service providers and acted for Google in privacy disputes as well as advising it on licensing and regulatory issues. Other key clients include Metso and Oriola. Pia Ek and the 'approachable' Eija Warma-Lehtinen jointly lead the team and handle TMT and data protection matters respectively; technology law expert Kimmo Rekola is also recommended.

Recent highlights for¬†HPP Attorneys¬†include¬†advising CGI Group on the provision of IT services to its clients including a¬†¬†‚ā¨200m procurement by L√§hiTapiola, and handling the creation of a new digital platform for a finance company.¬†Kari-Matti Lehti¬†heads up the team, which also includes¬†Klaus Nyblin, who focuses on the life sciences sector. Key practitioners at Roschier include department head Arto Linnervuo, data protection specialist Johanna Lilja and Mikko Manner, who handles media-related matters. Notable mandates included assisting Discovery Networks with the application process for the renewal of its digital FTA broadcasting licenses, and advising Telia on the establishment of its data centre operations.

The practice at Bird & Bird is noted for its 'solid business understanding and broad insight' and fields group head Sakari Halonen and Tobias Bräutigam, who is recognised for his 'outstanding project management acumen'. Recent highlights include advising Oma Savings Bank on the replacement of its core banking solutions with a SaaS-based system; Capgemini and OneMed are also clients.

Dittmar & Indrenius recently advised Fortum on the development of its SmartLiving service and assisted Ikea with data protection issues. 'True professional' Kai Erlund leads the 'solid' IT practice and Jukka Lång is the name to note for data protection matters. Other key clients include Veho and Copart UK.

The 'efficient and easy-to-reach' department at Hannes Snellman is jointly led by Panu Siitonen and Jesper Nevalainen; clients praise Nevalainen's 'tremendous assistance'. The team's client roster includes Efecte, Telia Finland and Smartly.io; it also assisted Berner with a major IT procurement matter.

The 'business-minded' team at Inventio Attorneys is recommended for its ability to 'communicate complex legal issues in a clear understandable manner'. Topi Lusenius leads the practice, which acts for clients including Xerox and Spectral Engines. Senior associate Henri Kaikkonen is also a key name to note.

Recent highlights for Krogerus include advising Rabbit Films on multiple contractual issues relating to its television productions and assisting Valmet with the outsourcing of its IT operations to CGI Group. Mika Puittinen heads up the team, which also includes Juha-Pekka Katainen.

At Lexia Attorneys Ltd, the 'professional and business-oriented' practice recently advised LähiTapiola on a substantial IT renewal process. Group head Sami Rintala is a 'very strong negotiator' with 'excellent business understanding' and the 'outstanding' Markus Myhrberg handles privacy and media matters.

Boutique firm Airaksinen Attorneys specialises in IT procurement and outsourcing matters, and counts Finnair, Ahlstrom-Munksjö and Realia Group as clients. Practice head Jukka Airaksinen is noted for his 'exceptional insight into IT service agreements' and 'cost-effective' approach.

Markus Oksanen heads up the group at DLA Piper, which recently assisted Thirdpresence, Verifone Finland and InfoCare with GDPR compliance and data protection matters. Senior counsel Timo Ruikka is also a key name to note.

At Eversheds Asianajotoimisto Oy / Eversheds Attorneys Ltd (a member of Eversheds Sutherland), the 'agile and cooperative' team recently advised POP Pankkiliitto on the selection of a technology and systems partner for its banking service. The practice is jointly led by Juha Taipale and the 'extremely professional' Tiina Ashorn.

The team at Mäkitalo Rantanen & Co Ltd is active in IT procurement and data protection matters. Jani Rantanen heads the practice, and highly experienced managing partner Ville Vyyryläinen is also recommended. The practice assists CCEA with multiple large-scale IT outsourcings and also handled its GDPR compliance work.

At Merilampi Attorneys Ltd, Erkko Ruohoniemi leads the telecoms practice, while newly promoted partner Sakari Aalto is the key contact for technology and media clients.
