Counsel Mika Kärkkäinen is a seasoned employment law professional. He is known for his trusted advice and hands-on approach to client matters. In addition to his advisory work, Mika has substantial experience representing employers in dispute resolution. He has acted as counsel to employers in a number of cases before the Supreme Court of Finland, and has argued three cases before the European Court of Justice.

Career

Prior joining D&I Mika Kärkkäinen worked for years with the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK where he advised member companies and organizations on a wide range of employment related issues. Having served on various legislative drafting committees, he has gained a deep insight into Finnish employment law. He has also co-authored three books on employment law, including a leading treatise on the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings. Mika is also frequently invited to lecture and share his knowledge at various professional events.
