BonelliErede’s ‘excellent practice’ advises clients on the design, improvement and implementation of effective compliance programmes and assists with corporate issues that arise regarding corruption and Decree 231, which deals with corporate crimes and the assessment of companies’ liability for crimes committed by directors, executives, and subordinates for the benefit of companies. Other areas of strength include enforcement proceedings and internal investigations. The team advised electricity producer ERG on a new global anti-corruption compliance programme. DLA Piper’s ‘outstanding practice’ advises individuals and legal entities on business criminal law and is adept at assisting with internal investigations as well as the planning, design and implementation of compliance programmes in accordance with Decree 231, the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act.
