The case was closed with commitments by Mastercard aimed at addressing the competitive concerns raised by Bancomat and shared by the ICA; ICA proceedings against Bancomat related to the alleged anticompetitive effects of the proposed replacement of the remuneration system for cash withdrawals at ATMs, from the current Multilateral Interchange Fee (MIF) scheme to a Direct Access Fee (DAF) scheme (Case I849), concluded with a prohibition decision with no fine, an outcome that we are currently challenging in Court.
