Position

Julian specialises in professional indemnity, personal injury and clinical negligence claims. He frequently acts for or against lawyers, accountants, surveyors and financial advisers. Represented the defendant solicitor in Lloyds Bank Plc v Burd Pearse and Another (CA) Lloyd’s LR PN [2001] P452 (limitation role of party’s solicitor for the purposes of s14a Limitation Act 1980); acted for the defendant racetrack owner in Glenie v Slack (Court of Appeal 19 April 2000) (occupiers’ liability for catastrophic personal injury); represented the claimant in Re Manda [1992] 2 WLR 164 (CA) (access to wardship documents to support clinical negligence claim); acted for defendant partners in Nottinghamshire Building Society v Peter Bennet and Co (CA) ‘The Times’ 26 Feb 1997 (services of proceedings on defunct partnership).
