Position

Colin has a broad practice encompassing all aspects of personal injury work and clinical negligence for claimants and defendants, including health and safety, high value personal injury claims, severe orthopaedic injuries leading to amputation, scarring, psychiatric damage and high value disability discrimination cases. He has built a reputation for taking on high value and difficult cases, especially related to fatal accidents, catastrophic brain damage and spinal injury. Many of his cases involve awards of settlements running to many millions of pounds. Recent cases have been ground-breaking, including Hayden v Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, and Rowley v King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has extensive ADR experience, including mediation and joint settlement meetings. Qualified 1983; Inner Temple; contributor to Inns of Court School of Law, manuals on drafting and on opinion writing. Appointed Tribunal Judge to sit on Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeal Tribunal 2008.
