Martin Mendel is a managing counsel in Dentons’ Bratislava office. He focuses his practice on real estate law, commercial law and also works on commercial litigation. Martin has extensive experience in real estate transactions, mainly assisting clients with (i) negotiation of preliminary/non-binding documents, (ii) preparation of a legal due diligence reports, (iii) drafting and negotiation of the transaction documents and (iv) completion of post-closing matters. He provides also legal advice to companies from various types of industries in connection with their business activities in the Slovak Republic, in particular in connection with protection of their rights in administrative and court proceedings (including preliminary court protection), as well as in arbitration proceedings. He worked as a lead lawyer on several real estate transactions in the Slovak Republic. He is an active speaker at conferences, primarily focusing on real estate issues.


Prior to joining Dentons in 2005, he worked as an inhouse lawyer for UPC BROADBAND SLOVAKIA.

The sizeable team draws on its strong ties with colleagues in Prague, working on a number of sales and acquisitions for clients in the life sciences, real estate, financial services, manufacturing, consumer goods and IT sectors, and is also regularly instructed on competition control and restructuring matters by international companies. The team is led by regional M&A specialist Juraj Gyárfáš which also includes counsels Katarína Pecnová and Martin Mendel who are noted for their commercial law expertise.
