Position

João is a partner at Dentons LEAD and heads the Employment and Labor practice and Employment Litigation. He also has great experience in Criminal Law and litigation.

He has represented national and foreign clients of various sectors/industries.

Career

João is responsible for advising clients in the various areas of Labor Law and social security matters, both in collective as well as individual labour law.

He is a University lecturer in ‘Criminal Law II’ and ‘Criminal Procedural Law’ and has been a constant presence in national and international conferences on Criminal Law and Labour Law, matters on which he has published several articles.

João participated in the Commission for the Reform of Law and Justice (created by the Angolan Executive) as a member of the Criminal Subcommittee and of the ad hoc Commission for Criminal Matters. As a result he is highly experienced with processes that comprise related law-making.

Prior to joining Dentons LEAD, João was a Senior Associate at ALC Advogados and FBL Advogados. João was also an Advisor to the Ministry of Justice (2013-2015).
