Spinning out of Baraona Fischer & Cía in January 2021, Fischer y Cía retained the bulk of the former tax team, including experienced partners Alex Fischer (as tax head) and Carolina Collantes (high-profile tax matters for local and international clients), along with next generation partners Isabel Espinoza and Juan Cristóbal Ortega – but not former senior partner Juan Manuel Baraona and former senior legal counsel Francisca Villamán. The ‘fantastic‘ 15-strong practice advises on a broad spectrum of tax advisory areas, including general corporate matters, M&A, financing, transfer pricing, and estate planning and structuring, as well as tax compliance matters. The firm also has a robust tax litigation team that handles complex and high-profile matters, and a notably strong tax and private wealth practice. Key senior associate support is provided by Juan Cristóbal Valenzuela, who focuses on indirect taxes and tax planning, andd  associate Gert Greve is also noted. Former associate Natalia Sandoval moved to EY Chile in July 2021, after only six months at the firm
