Career

Julio Martínez specializes in international and local financial transactions, including Capital Markets, securitizations and project finance transactions. He is recognized for his experience on financial regulations and privacy laws. In addition he has vast experience in advising foreign investors in Argentina, including mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law matters. Mr. Martinez also has significant experience advising oil and gas companies, in both the upstream and downstream businesses, and mining companies, and has unique credentials advising lenders of mining firms and projects.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner (2001-2007) and an associate (1996-1998/2000-2001) with Estudio Beccar Varela. In addition, Mr. Martínez was a New York-based foreign associate with the international law firm Allen & Overy (1999-2000).

He has been recommended for a number of years as one of the “Leaders in their Field” (Banking & Finance Argentina) for The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business published by Chambers & Partners. Additionally, he has been repeatedly recommended in M&A – Corporate and in Banking & Finance-Argentina by Chambers Latin America.
