Raphael Moreira Espírito Santo is a São Paulo-based partner and focuses his practice on all aspects of real estate and development transactions.
Mr. Espírito Santo has more than 10 years of experience in the real estate practice, advising on various real estate transactions, representing Brazilian and foreign investment groups and companies, from countries as diverse as the United States, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Mexico. Clients rely upon his exceptional knowledge of and track record in the dynamic real estate construction and development market in Brazil.
Companies value Mr. Espirito Santo’s strategic counsel on real estate issues, including structuring of real estate development projects, activities related to real estate investment fund creation and the structuring of hospitality and leisure assets. He also handles drafting of construction agreements, built-to-suit, sale and lease back transactions. He regularly coordinates real estate audits to evaluate the real estate holdings of corporations.
Mr. Espírito Santo began his career as a trainee of the tax area at Veirano Advogados. After graduation from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) he became a partner in a local firm and expanded its practice to real estate, civil litigation, tax and public law. He served as the managing partner of this firm for four years. In 2007 Mr. Espírito Santo refocused his practice on the real estate area and subsequently joined Veirano.
