Vanessa is a Principal Associate in our Pensions Group.

Vanessa has a wide range of experience advising trustees and employers of all types of pension schemes on day to day matters, individual member and technical queries and larger projects such as de-risking solutions, wind-ups, PPF and FAS assessment, benefit changes and funding negotiations.

Vanessa's recent projects include: advising in relation to a merger of 9 schemes to form a segregated master trust and subsequently redrafting the rules of each section; advising a partnership in connection with its conversion to a limited liability partnership to maintain PPF eligibility; and advising the trustees of a multi-employer scheme for non-associated employers in connection with issues arising on employer withdrawals.

Vanessa spent 10 months on secondment assisting in the development of the Code of Practice on Trustee Knowledge and Understanding and the associated guidance documents. Vanessa is a regular speaker at training sessions for trustees and junior pensions lawyers.

Vanessa has 7 years' pensions experience. She is a full member of the Association for Pension Lawyers, an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute having been awarded the Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision in January 2009. Vanessa is also a member of the International Employee Benefits Association and was awarded the Diploma in International Employee Benefits in December 2008. Vanessa sits on the Public Relations Committee of the Society of Pensions Consultants and the International Sub-committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
