Laura Feldman
Work Department
Laura is a Senior Associate in Eversheds Financial Services Disputes and Investigations team. She advises on contentious issues facing domestic and international banks, investment funds, bond trustees and other financial institutions. Laura has acted in high profile and complex disputes addressing a range of subject matters, including enforcement of security, fund management, restitution claims, trade and project finance, insolvency and investment advice. She has handled cases in the context of High Court and Court of Appeal litigation, as well as international arbitration.
Laura also supports the Commercial Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration teams in London and Paris act in general contentious matters, having developed broad experience of commercial and corporate disputes prior to joining Eversheds in leading firms and in Chambers. Her experience includes company and commercial disputes in London and the Asia-Pacific region, across a wide range of industries, extending to energy, insurance, mergers and acquisitions, negligence and shareholder disputes.
The International Chamber of Commerce UK (ICC) recently identified Laura as a rising star within the finance sector, and she sits on the ICC UK Banking Committee and is the Coordinator/Chair of the ICC Young Finance Forum. The Panel of Recognised International Market Experts in Finance (P.R.I.M.E Finance) appointed Laura as a Special Rapporteur and Laura is a member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association’s (ISDA) Arbitration and Financial Law Reform Committees. She is widely published in established legal texts, including contributions to Bullen, Leake and Jacob’s Precedents for Pleadings, Chitty on Contracts, and the IBA Litigation News. Most recently, Laura was appointed as an editor of the commentary to the Civil Procedural Rules (i.e. the White Book) and has published articles in Butterworth’s Journal of International Banking and Financial Law and Thomson Reuter’s Journal of Banking and Finance Law and Practice. She is also the co-author with Mr Justice Lam (Vice President of the Hong Kong Court of Appeal) of a new Mediation Chapter to be published in the forthcoming Hong Kong edition of Chitty on Contracts.
Prior to legal practice, Laura received a BA Honours in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford and received several awards and prizes throughout the course of her studies. Laura went on to be awarded the Middle Temple Inns of Court Fox Scholarship to complete a LLM specialising in Commercial Law at the University of Toronto. She received a distinction and Fellowship from the University.
