Career

Bernardo Porras joined Hughes & Hughes in 1997 and was admitted to the bar in 2000. He became partner in 2008.

Specialized in dispute resolution, insolvency, restructuring, banking and governmental liabilities; has strong experience counselling bank liquidations in dealing with transnational litigation and asset recovery, especially assisting victims of financial frauds.

Professor of Administrative Law, Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay.

Lecturer at national seminars on diverse matters related to Administrative and Procedural Law, including Project Finance, PPP’s, Public Trusts and Antitrust Law.

Former President of Legal Matters’ Commission of the Uruguayan Bar Association.
