Career

Years of doctoral and industry research in the life sciences industries give Li Feng, Ph.D., a practical understanding of the innovation process, which she applies across a broad range of technologies, including small molecule and biologic pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals, nanotechnology, cosmetics, and medical devices.

Li’s practice includes patent litigation before U.S. district courts; post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); patent preparation and prosecution; opinions and counseling; and due diligence.

Li represents pharmaceutical companies in Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) pre-litigation and litigation. She manages patent portfolios covering numerous biologic and small molecule drug candidates and regularly provides legal opinions on patentability, validity, enforceability, and freedom to operate relating to chemical and biological inventions. She has successfully represented companies in PTAB proceedings in the areas of biopharmaceuticals and biotechnology as well as nanotechnology and electronics. Li frequently writes and speaks about intellectual property topics. She currently co-leads Finnegan FORWARD (Focused on Raising Women’s Advancement, Representation, and Development), the firm’s women’s business initiative.
