Charles Wakiwaka is a partner in the London Office, and is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Financial Services groups. Charles advises buy-side and sell-side market participants on complex derivative and structured transactions such as fixed income, deal-contingent instruments, repackaging, structured notes and bespoke collateral arrangements across a range of asset classes, including equities, credit and commodities.

He is highly respected in the London and European markets for his strong technical skills, business savvy and impressive track record guiding clients through sophisticated derivatives and complex structuring arrangements.

Charles leverages experience from his secondment with Goldman Sachs, where he provided senior-level support for multiple trading desks, to add value in his client relationships.

Crowell & Moring joins the ranking having built its presence in the structured finance space since hiring a team from McGuireWoods London LLP in 2021. Partners Jennifer Kafcas and Charles Wakiwaka have become key advisers to investment banks, commercial banks, alternative capital providers, corporates, and private equity funds on a range of instruments, among them deal-contingent transactions, finance-linked swaps, and private equity fund and holdco structured hedging transactions. Since arriving at the firm, they have handled more than 225 structured derivatives products for clients, among them Goldman Sachs and Citibank, in an aggregate notional amount of approximately £12bn.
