Employment.

Position

Chris is a partner who has specialised in employment law since qualification in 1997. His clients cover sectors including retail, leisure and travel, utilities and energy, health and the public sector. Chris also acts for numerous employment agencies/businesses and was a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association’s working party on its recent response to government proposals for legislation implemented in April 2014 regarding ‘onshore intermediaries’ and tax avoidance. Last year he undertook a similar role in respect of the government’s call for evidence on collective consultation and redundancy. He has vast experience dealing with the full spectrum of employment tribunal claims such as unfair dismissal, breach of contract, TUPE, whistle blowing and all kinds of discrimination, and is an accomplished advocate. This means he is well placed to provide robust advice finding a balance between the commercial realities of running a business and the minefield of employment legislation. Chris regularly acts on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, with the focus on warranties/indemnities, consultation obligations and the application of TUPE. He has developed a particular expertise in employment issues relating to insolvency and TUPE over recent years. He has wide ranging experience in dealing with executive service agreements and executive terminations. He is an engaging presenter and enjoys bespoke training of clients on topical issues of the day.
