Matthew’s practice is primarily focused on transactions driven by the energy transition, advising a broad range of clients on commercial, financial, corporate and regulatory issues. He is particularly adept at handling M&A transactions concerning gas-fired power plants, renewable energy assets and other power-related infrastructure. Matthew has advised developers and lenders in energy project developments in the UK and internationally. He also has experience of advising on structured energy transactions such as corporate power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, energy management services agreements and energy derivatives contracts.
