Position

James Gleeson TEP is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey and a non-practising English qualified solicitor. James is a founding Partner of Dickinson Gleeson.

 

 

Career

Trained Slaughter and May; qualified 2000 (admitted as an English Solicitor – non-practising); admitted as an advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey 2005; Bedell Cristin 2003, partner 2008; partner Partner Dickinson Gleeson 2010 to date. Publications of note: ‘International Fraud and Asset Tracing – First Edition’.

James specialises in civil and commercial litigation, in particular trusts and funds disputes and complex cross-border fraud and asset tracing matters. He also advises in relation to regulatory matters and insolvency. He acts for wealth providers, trustees, corporates, law firms, banks and government agencies.  James has appeared in a number of leading cases on the Island, shaping Jersey law in the process.

Leading the team are founding partners James Dickinson and James Gleeson, both of whom have broad practices spanning commercial disputes, trust litigation and asset recovery. Guillaume Staal counts HNWIs, trust companies and financial institutions among his clients, and specialises in trust and estate litigation. Senior associate Jonathan Barham handles breach of directors’ duties and trusts claims, as well as civil fraud and insolvency issues.

Dickinson Gleeson‘s private clients practice specialises in supporting owner-managed businesses, and is well placed to handle both contentious and non-contentious trusts issues.
