Mr. Aruna Samarajewa is an expert in the fields of Dispute Resolution, Litigation, Arbitration, E-commerce, Intellectual Property, Consumer Affairs and Customs Law. With over 20 years of experience, he has developed a strong portfolio of local and international clientele. Having understood the nuances of the Sri Lankan legal system and its structures, he is a deal execution expert with a strong reputation for delivering practical, commercial solutions to otherwise complex legal issues.

 

Mr. Samarajewa has been instrumental in advising clients across a multitude of sectors including the retail sector, diversified conglomerates, import/export trade, hospitality, manufacturing, construction, banking and finance sectors, whilst also extending their parameters beyond the corporate segment to include non-governmental institutions and embassies.

 

He also specialises on issues relating to intellectual property, Consumer Protection Laws.

 

He has been at the forefront of a number of noteworthy transactions in the digital space, providing advisory services and end-to-end solutions during setting up of payment gateways and the migration of data into modern digital systems, in a constantly evolving legal landscape of E – commerce.

 

Mr. Samarajewa was admitted as an Attorney at Law in 1997. He obtained his LL.M from Monash University in 2003, where he specialised in Digital Economy Law.
