Position

Dr Lang is a Partner of Frasers Law Company. Dr Lang’s areas of expertise include all aspects of corporate and commercial, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, pharmaceuticals, commercial, real estate and infrastructure projects. Dr Lang has advised a wide variety of multinational businesses from all parts of the world. Dr Lang joined the Frasers team as a Partner in early 2013.

Career

Dr Lang is one of Vietnam’s leading lawyers and one of the first Vietnamese nationals to have been appointed as a Partner in a foreign-owned, international law firm in Vietnam. Dr Lang’s technical skills are highly regarded, and the quality of her work is well known in the Vietnam business community. Prior to joining Frasers Law Company, Dr Lang spent more than eight years in one of the world’s largest “magic circle” law firms, rising to the level of International Counsel with that firm. Dr Lang is one of the first two people to have been awarded a doctorate of law from Ho Chi Minh City Law University. Dr Lang has lectured on a wide range of subjects including corporate governance, investment, commercial, competition, and anti-corruption law. She has written extensively on foreign investment in Vietnam and in particular on BOT contracts. Dr Lang is a regular speaker at seminars. She has also attended various presentations for clients in Vietnam and overseas, and has provided training to the management teams of a number of leading corporations.

    On 6/20/2012, the National Assembly voted to adopt the Law on Price (the "LOP") in response to the public demand for an effective legal framework to control price manipulation from dominant enterprises such as gasoline, electricity, etc. The law will take effect from 01/01/2013 and repeal Ordinance No. 40/2002/PL-UBTVQH10 dated 26/4/2002 of the National Assembly Standing Committee (the "Ordinance"), which is conceived as outdated and containing certain provisions contravening the WTO’s regulation. This article describes the main features of the law and provides some insight into its potential impacts on the Vietnamese economy.
