Career

Justin Gisz is a Partner of Frasers and one of our firm’s most senior expatriate lawyers. Justin’s 19 years’ experience combines nine years’ Australian and international experience with 12 years’ experience in Vietnam.

A mergers, acquisitions, and corporate advisory specialist – and equally at home across both the private equity space and the public capital markets space – Justin has also developed industry-leading expertise in Vietnamese property, general commercial, and foreign direct investment law.

Experience

Justin commenced his career in 1998 with KPMG Legal, based in its Sydney office. During his five years with KPMG Legal, Justin specialised in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate and commercial advisory work. Justin acted on many high-profile transactions for multinational and Australian companies, including blue chip public companies, large private companies, global franchises and small to medium sized enterprises, often in collaboration with the KPMG Tax division.

In 2003, Justin accepted the role of General Counsel, Oceania, for the Deutsche Post/DHL group of companies, again based in Sydney. In this General Counsel role, Justin was responsible for managing the legal and regulatory affairs of the Deutsche Post/DHL group in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. The transport and logistics business of Deutsche Post/DHL in Oceania is a large and complex operation, spanning multiple business units and generating massive revenues. Reporting to the Oceania CEO, with a dotted line report to Asia Pacific General Counsel, Justin was heavily involved in executive management of the group’s operations across numerous jurisdictions and gained invaluable experience in the practical application of law in a business context.

In 2007, Justin joined the Frasers team, bringing with him a combination of top-tier professional advisory firm experience and multi-jurisdictional General Counsel experience.
