Career

Mr. Eric Su has started and focused his career in Intellectual Property since obtaining a Chemical Engineering degree and Law Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property. So far, Eric Su has handled thousands of IP cases, covering IP rights acquisitions (trademark, copyright, patents and domain names, etc.), civil and administrative non-litigation and litigation lawsuits on IP cases, multinational IPR licensing and assignment transactions, administrative and criminal enforcement against IP infringement and counterfeiting, domain name disputes, anti-unfair competition, and compliance on products label and advertising materials, and with the profound knowledge and experience, Eric Su has helped brand owners to successfully secure the Well-known Trademark Status Recognition, and quite a few cases that he has handled have been awarded Typical Cases by the Supreme People’s Court or local Higher People’s Court.

Many clients changed their agents and came to Mr. Eric Su because of his discipline and intelligence, granting him great negotiation skills. With comprehensive proposals and strategies, Mr. Eric Su is able to solve IP disputes or infringements through administrative, civil, and criminal procedures, allowing him to always find alternative solutions for his clients. Cases have therefore included negotiating with trademark squatters after initially taking effective legal actions, successfully convincing the court to hold the contributory infringement and liability of the shareholders of the infringers, negotiating on the licensing of multi-national brands in the fashion industry, handling new types of IP cases, such as non-infringement declaration lawsuit, reversal counterfeiting cases, reversal confusion cases, etc. These cases and many more have attributed to his reputation in the IP industry. Mr. Eric Su often shares his own experience and opinions through articles and seminars.

With his reputation in the IP field, more and more domestic and foreign clients are deciding to establish a closer relationship with Hongfang Law, for the domestic clients, with Hongfang Law’s overseas legal resources Mr. Eric Su helps them to manage the IP portfolios and protect brands and patents around the world.
