OVERVIEW

Bessy Agyeiwaa Crentsil is a Ghanaian lawyer with outstanding research and problem-solving skills. She has a considerable understanding of the Ghanaian business climate and routinely advises on Corporate Law, Construction Law, Employment and Labour, International Family Law, Tax Law, and Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring.

Her recent work with the firm includes conducting due diligence on behalf of clients on the protection of Critical Information Infrastructure in Ghana, advising a client on Ghana’s plea bargaining regime, and reviewing construction agreements in line with the FIDIC books. She was also recently engaged with a Solicitor Firm in the United Kingdom (UK) which instructed the Firm to provide an expert opinion on the legal regime of surrogacy in Ghana.

Having previously worked with the firm as a legal trainee, Bessy has gathered significant knowledge of the industry as well as firm ethics and culture and exudes the B&P spirit of ultimate client satisfaction with excellence.

Bessy has fast established a reputation amongst clients and her teammates as a dependable lawyer with a passion for getting results and solving client problems. She is a team player with admirable team management and coordination skills. She routinely applies these skills to provide client satisfaction in all transactions she is involved in.

Bessy has certificates in Construction Law from the West Africa Built Environment Research Conference (WABER); Training on the Tax and Transfer Pricing Implications of Cross-Border Investments & Trade from the PwC, Business School; Business Rescue and Debt Restructuring from the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA); and International Arbitration from the International Court of Arbitration (ICC Arbitration) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Bessy was a member of the Team that contributed to the publication of the 2024 International Comparative Legal Guide – Environmental, Social & Governance Law (Ghana Chapter); the 6th Edition of the Blue Book – Family Law: A Global Guide (Ghana Chapter); the Securitisation Chapter of the Chambers and Partners Global Guides 2023 and 2024; and the 2023 Mondaq Private Mergers and Acquisitions Comparative Guide (Ghana Chapter).

Bessy also advances her skills to the less privileged with the same passion and dedication to paid clients. This has seen her take a leading role in the Firm’s pro bono team, where she has executed various programs with distinction.
