Position

Nigel is a Legal Director and founding member of the Commercial Litigation team at Tyr.  He has expertise in claims involving allegations of dishonesty, professional negligence, and contentious tax.  Nigel has experience of challenging the decisions of various public bodies through judicial review.  He has acted on several large group actions.

Nigel’s clients have included public bodies, multinationals, corporates, trustees, and high net worth individuals.  His work has spanned a broad range of industries including disputes relating to peer-to-peer lending, property development, professional services, education, pensions, media, and manufacturing.

Career

Nigel helped to establish the Commercial Litigation team at Tyr with partners Alistair Kennedy and Matthew Fidler in 2019. Nigel trained and worked at London firm RPC between 2010 and 2015, including a six-month secondment to the BBC’s litigation and intellectual property department. In 2015, Nigel returned to Yorkshire to work in the complex litigation team at Schofield Sweeney in Leeds.
